funnest present ever

This promises to be one of the greatest presents ever! Betsy sent me the number and letter ice trays I had on my list! The picture I took looks totally ghetto next to the potential fun these trays possess. My first trial was with jello. I believe the key to successful removal will be patience - good luck there! As you can see, I wasn't even patient enough to plan out the letters or mix the colors and at LEAST make orange! Impatient Kat strikes again. If anyone has any tips on how to remove jello from silicon, I'm all ears. In the mean time, I'm trying to freeze them a tad to see if that helps, and I believe this afternoon I'll be experimenting with letter brownies. FUN FUN FUN! Who needs rats to experiment on?!

post script: Freezing the jello worked like a charm. Brownies come next!

You are welcome! Wish I was there to play!

Those do look fun! And I love your outdoor play set too. We keep planning on getting a playscape for the kids, but I am sure by the time we around to it they will have outgrown the need for one.

You can make letter brownies with ABC cookie cutters. I have some and they are lots of fun! Just make thin-ish brownies and cut away. Of course, you probably know that since you are slightly more domestic than I am...

When you do the brownies, the freezing thing definitely helps. I have done mini brownies before and they are HARD to get out w/o them breaking.

I mean... I do love the molds and all... but don't you think a set of letter cookie cutters may have been more efficient for some of these things?

of COURSE i already have letter cookie cutters! those are totally old news. :) just kidding. they are fun too, but they are much larger - maybe 3 inches tall - and leave a lot of waste behind.

if you saw how much fun katie has playing with the trays of letters and numbers you'd be sold!

I'm think I'm going to have to get some of these for my nieces! Let me know if the freezer makes them easier to remove?! Or perhaps a little cooking spray?? Ciao.
